Everything you need to know about Refurbished iPhone

What is a refurbished phone?

A refurbished phone is a pre-owned device that has been restored to its factory settings so it can be resold.

Not all phones described as refurbished were ever faulty. Sometimes refurbished phones are phones that were returned by customers who changed their minds within the 30-day returns period.

Refurbished phones can be classified with grades A, B, and C or graded as "good" to "excellent" condition. Phones graded A (or excellent), have minimal signs of use and are like-new, but for a lot less than if you were to buy a new one.

What tests are carried out on a Refurbished phone?

All devices pass through a rigorous check, including battery, buttons, camera, and connection such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and screen.

All data is removed from the device, and the device is restored to its original state. The phones are usually updated to the most recent operating system.

If required, parts are repaired or replaced.

Are Refurbished phones good?

Refurbished phones are thoroughly tested and fully functional, usually as good as new.
However, keep in mind that a refurbished phone usually comes in a standard white box and may not include all of the usual accessories, such as chargers and headphones.

On the plus side, it should have at least a one-year warranty and the option to return it if you are dissatisfied

What are the refurbished phone gradings?

Refurbished phones are graded based on their condition.
The most common way to grade a phone is to classify them from A to D.

Grade A: This is for like-new devices, with minimal signs of use. (see image below)

Grade B: The phone might have superficial and minimal scratches.
Grade C: These are usually the cheapest option, but the signs of use are more visible, such as scratches or chips.
Grade D: Phones graded as D are usually only used for spare parts.

Are Refurbished Phones Cheaper?

You can save up to 70% when you choose a refurbished phone instead of a new one, especially on older models. You can usually find a variety of refurbished phones, including the latest launched devices.

Is it safe to buy a refurbished phone?

Yes, reputable retailers will always provide you with the best devices and include additional services such as warranty and returns for free. Always check what the retailer offers when buying your phone.

Are refurbished phone batteries good?

Batteries are rigorously tested to ensure they are fully working and with at least 85% of their battery life. In some cases, the battery might be replaced, but it is usually the original version that has been restored.

Are refurbished phone cameras good?

If you choose a device with a high quality camera, rest assured you will be able to enjoy it. A refurbished phone is rigorously tested before being sold, and you will receive the best working device. Always check with the retailer if it is possible to return the item without extra charge, in case you are dissatisfied.

Can I update my iOS / Android refurbished phone operating system?

You can easily update the system on the most recent models. Some older devices might not be able to be updated due to their hardware compatibility. You can check this on your manufacturer's instructions and avoid buying refurbished phones that might not be compatible anymore.

Can I trust a refurbished phone?

As long as you choose a reputable retailer, yes, you can trust your refurbished phone. A reputable retailer will offer you additional services such as warranty, free returns, replacement and support for any questions you might have.

Is a refurbished phone an original phone?
